look! I made it!

with a lot of help from my colleague of course.

so I can make much more exciting stuff.

you know what, we are talking nothing but blogging at our tea time. but the problem is, very few people seem to have time to finish all those steps before the deadline. as most of us only working parttime, and have all sorts of pal duties to do with no delays. at home, i am even busier!

anyway, fun to do, and nice to have a new topic in common.

news feeds--stamp No.9

I have visited those sites you recommend, I even prescribed some, Boing Boing sent me all the good stuff almost everyday for 2 weeks, I've just deleted all of them and won't subscribe anymore as I found them not as relevent/current as nzherald. I don't have time to read those stuff, Herald is more interesting. actually, after you introduced RSS and its logo, I started to see it everywhere, I can go to my favourite sites to order news.
BUT, I still enjoy reading the newspaper with a cup of milo, while sitting in front of the screen, I can do nothing but READ.

mashup-my 6th stamp

I've looked into mashups, how it works, what it can make, some successful examples, and what it means (wikipedia). I now know people can use those programmes provided to mix image, sound, calenda...everything they want, together, to design something new to share with friends or just show strangers how clever he/she is! all we need is just time! I have tried, but not cool at all!
(we Epsom blogging staff are all using gmail address, only I use the work address, that's the only difference i can see.)

RSS-can't make it work

I have spent 1.5-2 hours on working it all over again, but still couldn't make it work!
I went to the very first beginning, made everything as 'public' as possible, I ticked all the 'yes', agreed on everything, I went to all the sites you suggested, I prescribed something on each site, I even received something in my email, still, my link doesn't work!
I got all the staff(who are doing this blog stuff) in the library to check my so many steps to see what was wrong, no one could see any.
What went wrong?
I can't figure out, the only difference was I use my working email went registered (@aucklandcity.govt.nz) . Is it not a public one? so can't be shared?
I read your comment, and so did my colleagues, none of use can solve the problem, we even could not find those tags you mentioned, not on any page! where are they? the more we searched, the more we puzzled, 2 hours later, everyone got lost.
anyway, blog is something for people to use when they don't have or want to social contact, it is another channel. for me, it seems a channel of communication between you and me, I do according to you instruction on your comment, but i can't see you.
I am sure only you will read it, as I don't seriously read anyone else's
I watch a lot new technology on newspapers and TV, such as iphone, tabletop, etc.,high price, but people still fight to get one. I've got a very advanced mobile phone, a gift, but I only use the most basic functions, good to know it can do a lot of things though.
maybe one day, our library will have a table top, customers can play whatever they like on the clever coffee table.

I did everything according to instructions, set up that link, but it keeps telling me that I have entered an incorrect username! how frustrating! what was wrong?

Flickr?

I have looked into Flickr and I am totally lost!
I was guided to different pages, to do this and that, to open accounts, to link accounts, to send emails to differents accounts, then I forgot what I was doing and what for in the first place!
what's more, the emails I sent couldn't be received by my other accounts!
now I feel it's a bit of a waste of time, I spent about 2 hours on those stuff, but so far, no results. especially those emails, are they lost of hijacked? what will happen if someone else got it?
so far, i can't see anything in my yahoo account inbox, what a mystery. i am thinking of, shall i give up? as i found i am not alone. we are not full-timers, we've got loads of duties, at work & at home. even if we finish all those steps, what are we going to do with that?

week2

I have taken a look around Bebo, Myspace, Facebook, there are so many picture, some are really beautiful, most of them quite personal, to be honest, I am not one of those who love to post own/children's picture on a public site. I also read about those texts, most of them, from my point of view, are meaningless. I can't think I am interested in socializing on those sites. am I boring?
